FAQ
Answers about photo access, map footprints, stamps and your account.
Do you upload my photos?
No. Original photos stay on your device. Matching a supported stamp place sends its place ID, photo coordinates and capture time to the Roami service for validation.
Why has a photo not lit up the map?
Check photo access and whether the original photo has GPS metadata. Screenshots and images shared through other apps often lack a capture location.
Does every place have a stamp?
No. GPS footprints and stamp eligibility are separate. The current pilot stamp catalog covers Yellow Crane Tower in Wuhan; the catalog is not a worldwide landmark database.
Will it keep scanning in the background?
Roami scans accessible photos when opened, when returning to the foreground and when the photo library changes. iOS limits background time; a suspended or force-quit app cannot promise continuous scanning.
How do I delete my account?
In the app, open Settings, then Delete Account. The service revokes the Apple grant before deleting the account, visits, stamps and saved places. If deletion fails, the app reports it so you can retry.
Is Roami available to download?
Roami is in development. There is no verified public App Store listing yet, and this website does not accept payments.
